Call To Action: "Doc Fix" & TC Grandfather Expire This Month
As we have addressed in previous Alerts, both the Physician Payment Fix and the TC Grandfather Clause are set to expire at the end of this month (2/29/2012). We are urging the entire medical community, and anyone who works in and/or is affected by healthcare to contact your members of Congress regarding these crucial matters.
Please contact your representative and urge them to sign onto any legislation proposing to extend the physician payment fix, repeal the SGR in its entirety, extend the TC Grandfather Clause temporarily, and/or extend the TC Grandfather Clause permanently. The direct number to the Congressional switchboard is 202-224-3121; the operator will ask for your state, city, or address and then forward your call as appropriate. Ask for the Health Legislative Assistant and explain your position and your request.
PIMS is working on letters which you can send via email or via facsimile; please stay tuned to our site, and we will add an update to our home page, as well as send alerts via Twitter (@PIMSBilling) and Facebook (Physicians Independent Management Services—“like” us), once the letters are available for general use.
As always, please contact PIMS with any questions or concerns regarding how this may affect your practice, hospital, and/or laboratory. We can analyze your arrangements specific to the TC Grandfather Clause to see whether any will be affected by this potential expiration and can help with communication to your business partners and/or hospitals regarding same.
